  20. about that C64 entering the charts
  21. with minimal external processing
  22. effects is getting closer, wouldn't
  23. it be great to see errr hear on a CD

  26. A team of super talented coders have
  27. managed to break the limits of C64
  28. sound once again.
  29.  
  30. The Human Coding Machine from Germany
  31. and SounDemoN from Finland, have
  32. managed to create a music routine
  33. that allows you to have:
  34.  
  35. - 4 channels of 8-bit sample rate,
  36.  digi playback
  37. - 2 channels of SID synth sound
  38. - You can filter both SID channels
  39.  AND SAMPLES!
  40. - And you have enough raster time so
  41.  you are not forced to turn off the
  42.  screen, and can actually do some-
  43.  thing with it ;)

  45. This technique has been presented in
  46. the X'2008 demo party, the bi-annual
  47. classic of the C64 scene where
  48. usually all barriers are broken and
  49. this one has been, fortunately, no
  50. exception!

  52. The routine in question was demo'ed
  53. in the production VICIOUS SID, which
  54. also included other crazy audio
  55. routines you can check out by
  56. following the attached link.

  58. Beta testing of this software will
  59. start soon, a few artists have
  60. started to experiment with pre-beta
  61. versions of the tools, like Fanta,
  62. who made an amazing X'2008 SID music
  63. entry with his tune Fanta in Space,
